Painting the flowering Hawthorn

Painted on Salisbury Plain.  I made several sorties this Spring to nearby Salisbury Plain to paint the hawthorn in blossom. The distant Roundway Hill can be seen between the bushes. Oil on canvas 12″ x 16″

This group of trees on the side of the Malvern Hills, it was, mid-April, lots of frozen weather and a very late spring and this was the start of the thaw, gratefully soaking up some sun.
